Solid State Books hosts multiple book clubs, all free and open to the public and new members. You can find each month’s selections at the front of the store and online, and all selections are sold at a 10% discount until the meeting date.

New Fiction Book Club

Co-owner Scott leads a monthly book club for newly published fiction. Open to the public. Check the calendar for title selection and dates.
Meets on the fourth Monday at H St., monthly.

Horror Book Club

Led by Horror enthusiast Addy Allred. We will be exploring all things horror, from ghosts and ghouls to slashers and thrillers and everything in between. Join DC's premier Horror book club hosted at Solid State Books!
Meets on the third Wednesday at H St., monthly.

Poetry Book Club

Read and write poetry with our resident poet, Mariam. Each workshop begins with a free write, leading to reading selections from the selection for that month, then writing your own poems, and ending with sharing out. *No need to read the book before hand, come with something to write with and an open mind! Join us every third Sunday, monthly, from 3-4 pm

Reading the City Book Club

Led by neighbor and urban policy journalist Emily Badger, this book club will range across non-fiction books about housing, transportation, architecture, poverty, urban history, politics and more. Join us if you’re curious about how cities work, and how to make them better.
Meets on the first Wednesday at H St., monthly.

Sci-Fi / Fantasy Book Club

Led by local Science-Fiction & Fantasy enthusiasts since 2018, we're all about creating a community of SFF book lovers in the greater DMV area. Come talk with us about anything and everything from this expansive genre! Meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month @ 7pm on H St. (Virtual meetings on Zoom every third month)

Toolbox Book Club

Join our bookseller, Ndemazea & local organizations, to discuss the book of the month & how to get involved; to discuss ideas, enjoy community, and move forward the issues about which you’re passionate. Meets on the second Wednesday, monthly from 7 - 8 pm.
